Near City College
There are actually tons of eateries along Ocean, mostly Asian, a few Mexican, and a couple of coffee shops and juice bars, all within 5 minutes walking distance of campus. But here's a couple suggestions.

Beep's Burgers (across the street from City College)

Upsides: Huge burgers, 2 minute walk from college campus
Downside: Other stuff is mostly mediocre, sometimes a big wait

La Corneta (30 minutes walking, 3-5 minutes driving from City College)
(Rated 9.7/10 by SF residents for burritos in the city!)

Upsides: Very fresh and delicious food (try their Salmon or Steak and Prawn burritos!), many cheap options
Downsides: Can be very crowded, noisy, very little room to sit, parking
NOTE: This is right across from the Glen Park BART, which is one stop away from the Balboa BART.

In 'n' Out Burger + Krispy Kreme: 5 minute drive from City College For when you've got both a car and a craving! In 'n' Out open until 1:30 Fri/Sat nights, Krispy Kreme drive-thru open 24/7.

There's also a RiteAid and a Walgreens pharmacy a few blocks down from the City College on Ocean Avenue.

Balboa Park: 5 minute walk from City College. Lots of grass. Also a pool! ($4 entrance fee): Might be a good place to cool off, catch a shower, or have a picnic
